His Majesty Gabusu VI, saluted as Togbega Gabusu VI, was the fiaga -paramount chief - of the area officially known as Gbi Traditional Area.

Gbi Traditional Area is commonly known as the Hohoe Area - with Hohoe, its capital town, doubling as municipal capital. The area is also referred to sometimes as Gbi Dzigbe or Gbi North.

Born Billy Bright Eli Komla Kumadie on June 20, 1950, to Gustav Koku Kumadie of Gbi-Hohoe and Dorothea Kpegah of Gbi-Bla, Gabusu VI hailed from the Royal Kadrake Gate of the Torkoni clan of Gbi-Hohoe.

A teacher by profession, Eli was enstooled as Gabusu VI on May 25, 1989. By tradition, Gabusu VI,  was the chief of his clan, Hohoe-Torkoni, and divisional chief of his town, Gbi-Hohoe.

Gabusu VI held various positions, including vice president of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, president of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, and member of the Ghana National House of Chiefs. He also served on a number of boards of institutions.

During his tenure of office as vice president of Volta Regional House of Chiefs, Gabusu VI proposed the use of "Togbega" to replace "Togbe" for the salutation of paramount chiefs, to distinguish them from divisional chiefs.

Eli Kumadie grew up among nine siblings, of which he was the only son. He was married with seven children - three daughters and four sons.
