Commerce & Investment

HOHOE, PEKI & SURROUNDING AREAS

Volta Region is one of Ghana's richest in terms of vegetation and natural resources. The region, however, is among those lacking in investment. With ample land, green vegetation, mineral deposits and more, many of the areas in the region, including Hohoe municipality and South Dayi district, offer a vast array of investment opportunities.  Agriculture and related trades are the leading commercial activities in the Volta Region. The region's untapped resources include iron ore, found in the newly created Guan District, which originally was part of Hohoe municipality.

It is anticipated that the completion of the Eastern Corridor, which is expected to facilitate economic cooperation between Ghana and neighboring countries, will result in the rise of commercial activities in the areas along that stretch. Hohoe and Peki are among major towns located along the Eastern corridor.
